I just got to acquire a new deck - The Rumi Tarot by Nigel Jackson. The deck is beautiful, and the book with it is fascinating. It contains some new (to me!) information, tracing the source of Tarot out away from the Taro River valley in Italy to the Middle East, and from there into China, of all places. Jackson has done a good job of presenting the research, as well as the history of Rumi and the Sufi sect of Islam. One of the fun "aspects" of the Tarot is numerology, and playing with dates and tarot cards is a worthwhile contemplation of the Major Arcana and how that plays out in our lives.
